Up for sale is my 79 HZ Kingswood Panelvan. I bought it as a project to do up as I drove it; but as with many things, time and money arn t on my side. I am the second registered owner and the van is very standard. It is running the original 202 with auto on the tree, has the 3 seater armrest benchy, and the factory color is Sandlewood metallic (has nt been repainted). Easiest way to do this is to list the good and bad points; so here goes.... BAD: Did have fuel system problem, hence rebuilt items listed below, (rust in tank can go a long way!!) though good now. Engine blows no smoke, but have been told that compression is a bit low. I have been told that if looked after (not thrashed!) she will be good for a few km s yet. She is used as a daily driver and starts and runs fine. Had a bit of rust when I first got her (refer pics), but the majority has since been repaired (yes Plates, not bog!) Will need a bit more lovin on the body before she is ready for paint, but most of the hard work is done. Floors etc are all in good nick. GOOD: New front shocks, windscreen, rear shackles, carby rebuilt, dizzy rebuilt, fuel tank acid dipped and coated, fuel pump/ filter rekitted, rocker/side cover gaskets, good tyres (front right new) and drives quite smoothly. Volkswagen Type 3 Fastback.1972 This Type 3 was fully stripped to bare body and floor pan over 3 years and repainted 2007, most rubbers replaced on rebuild except ¼ glass. Most of the mounting hardware was replaced during rebuild. The original 1600 motor is in standard condition and the exhaust is original VW fit. 4 speed manual gearbox, new rear wheel bearings and seals in 2005. 34272 Mls Pod air cleaners over twin carbie’s for easy access to engine however original tinware oil bath air cleaner included. New brake master cylinder on rebuild and new rear slaves in Jan 2009. The colour is an American VW green, all badges fitted Tidy interior, clean door cards, good carpet, seat vinyl in very good condition for its age and back seat belts x 3. There is a single crack in the dash over the speedo. Air vents fully operational as well as the heater system. Black gauges, clock works and keeps fairly good time, trip meter not working. We installed a new radio, boxed in under the dash without cutting any holes. The car has some impact damage from an early accident, there is some damage visible inside the rear boot and a front cut over wheel arches however nothing visible from the exterior and, straight panels and doors all round. The car is fitted with H4 head lights in NARVA inserts. Full car cover included with car. Non smoker drivers This car was driven for 1 ½ years after restoration as a daily driver and is running very well. It will cruise comfortably at 60 MPH. ...
